Dominican- American artist, producer, composer and musician Pedro Fortunato, was born and raised in New York City and brings a fresh contemporary perspective to tropical music by incorporating both cultures into his art and embracing his roots in the diaspora. 
 

 Pedro's music shares vulnerability and self-reflection in a fast paced world, creating a space for listeners to explore love, emotion and consciousness.

As a sideman Pedro has recently shared the stage with renowned artists like Karol G, Yasser Tejeda, Riccie Oriach, Zeo Muñoz and others.

    Fortunato’s most recent 2025 EP “Verano Fugaz”, continues to innovate within the tropical genres especially Merengue with his first single “La Niña Que Conoci”, setting an upbeat yet vibey tone starting with a catchy saxophone melody and telling the story of a short lived NYC romance. The second single “No Necesito Nada”, also a Merengue, is a positive upbeat beach vibe, highlighting the human necessity of being in community, the simplicity of going with the flow, enjoying nature and forgetting about the material things in modern day society.

 His first single, "Palomita", earned him a nomination for the Dominican Premios Indie Awards in 2022.

 As a producer, songwriter and composer his work can be heard on compositions such as "Adiós, Adiós" (recorded by Maxbanda), "Te Vi", (recorded by Renova & sung by Aris Jackson), "¿Qué Hago?" by Shino Aguakate, “Honores”, a song for mixed multimedia arts project Mercedes by Modesto “Flako” Jimenez, that has presented at BAM, showcase his contemporary vision within the genre of Merengue Tipico.

 Meanwhile, productions like "Corazón De Piedra", a debut single for singer Yanez showcase his experimental approach to Bachata, notably in the sound design and blues guitar melodies. His songwriting can also be heard on Bachata Rising Vol. 2 for artist Frias with the track “Tengo Que Aceptar”, a project by sP Polanco four-time Latin Grammy nominee, ASCAP award-winning composer, and one of the key architects of modern bachata.
